Are we being punk'd?

Today I was on my way to the dentist for my crown repair at 7 am when I received a call from Craig. He had gone to Fellas at Five at the church and I assumed he was on his way home. He told me he had stopped by Wal-Mart and then decided to come back home and see Selah and I before he headed to work. However, he had gotten in a wreck on his way back home on the busiest road in the city during rush hour morning traffic. Everyone involved was fine, but the Explorer had some damage to the passenger side and a flat tire so it was unable to be driven. After everything was worked out, a police officer took Craig to work. We just got the Explorer last month to replace the Neon that died... so now we are temporarily down to one vehicle again.  We have had quite a bit of excitement these last few weeks. We need some low key, maybe even 'boring' days...

Satterfield's go to the ER

Yep, its true, as the title says, we went to the ER early this morning. Craig got up to get ready for work and Selah was a bit fussy so he gave her the pacifier and then she spit up and started to choke. She was not breathing well at all so I called the pediatrician, only to get the answering service (it was about 6am). So we took her to the emergency room at the Lake. We were there until about 10:30 and the verdict was that she had reflux. I didn't trust what the doctor was telling me though because she said some weird stuff, so I made her an appointment to see her pediatrician. That said, she is A-OK and we are oh so relieved. She scared us pretty bad and now the sound of her breathing is music to our ears...

WOW... what a week!

I have not been able to blog lately because we have not had internet service for about a week now. We did have AT&T but we have cancelled that service and gone with Verizon. AT&T has been very disappointing. Craig called to get some answers about why we were always trying to reboot the system (we would have to do this multiple times a day) and to get a basic land line because our cell service is terrible too, but they kept trying to sell us more service or products, or the call would get dropped *surprise surprise*. Eventually they scheduled a tech to come fix the DSL internet, which happened (actually 2 techs came the same day) but someone at the AT&T customer service disconnected our internet service and scheduled us to have U-Verse... hmm, except we never asked to have that. So we got fed up after Craig called customer service about 15 times in three days and just cancelled our service first thing this morning. We went with the tablet hot spot thing that Verizon offered and wow... I can check my email again. :)

On a different note, the lovely crown that I last mentioned was not the end of my tooth drama. I got the crown on a Tuesday and by Saturday I had pain so bad that I would have birthed Selah and recovered again rather than have that pain for another week. So, I went back to the dentist on Wednesday, she referred me to a specialist, and I had a root canal; bummer. Now I have to go back to the dentist soon to have the crown repaired or replaced... stay tuned to hear the outcome of that. I am going to have to take out a loan pretty soon... I am rethinking my career choice, apparently there is good money in fixing or not fixing people's teeth.

Selah has a new special talent... gravity defying bowel movements. Somehow, the poo goes up... either above the belly button in the front, or up to the shoulder blades in the back. She also peed on me and my bed yesterday and bathes me in spit up daily (which starts smelling like parmesan cheese after a while). I guess this is just all part of motherhood. Lucky for me, Craig was off today and I got to sneak away for a pedicure which was nice. My feet were looking like something out of a scary movie with toenails that could have been used as a weapon, and heels that could sand wood... but now I'm like a new person. It's amazing what some bubbly water and polish can do. :)
